The Daisy is designed to offer a more sustainable approach to personal hygiene by reducing reliance on toilet paper and other disposable products, lowering both environmental waste and the resources required to produce it. As a reusable, water-efficient tool, it minimizes the environmental impact associated with traditional hygiene routines while also supporting healthier, cleaner practices in homes and healthcare settings. Our design prioritizes durability, safe materials, and long-term use, reducing the need for frequent replacement and helping users make choices that are better for the planet.
The average person uses roughly 100 rolls of toilet paper each year, and producing that paper is resource-intensive—requiring an estimated 37 gallons of water per roll, along with significant amounts of energy, chemicals, and packaging. In the United States alone, more than 36 million trees are cut down annually for toilet paper production, contributing to deforestation and the release of carbon stored in forests.
Beyond the environmental impact, toilet paper represents a recurring financial cost for households, care facilities, and healthcare systems, with demand increasing substantially for people who require more frequent hygiene support. Reducing toilet paper use is one of the simplest ways to cut both environmental waste and ongoing expenses.
